What started initially as people with common automotive interests, conversing in parking lots and local restaurants, has grown into dedicated online car discussion forums.  Recently, however, there has been a disturbing and sudden shift away from enthusiast-owned forums.  It’s a shame and it seems to be happening more and more today. Revenue-based sites,owned and operated by non-enthusiasts, do a huge disservice to the car community.

Automotive Forums – Where We’ve Been, Where We’re Going.

Only two weeks after NICOFEST Atlanta, we were off to Virginia International Raceway for our 3rd year bringing the Nissan enthusiast experience to GT Live. For a tradition that is only three years old, this event has grown leaps and bounds over where it started. For those of you who don’t know about GT Live, this is an event that any Motorsports enthusiast will enjoy. Unlike the previous event in Atlanta, this event is all about performance and driving skill. It’s like a Disney World of Motorsports. Lapping Sessions, Auto-X, Time Attack, Endurance Racing, Go-carts, Drifting, you name it—it’s there.

In 2008, Infiniti went BMW hunting with the new 2008 G37 coupe. In a highly argued comparison, Motor Trend magazine ranked the G37 coupe over the 2007 BMW 335i and concluded “More muscle and technology deliver BMW brilliance on a budget”. Definitely something the BMW loyalists disagreed with.

The upcoming 2010 Nissan Cube will be Nissan’s first entry into the “MMPV” or Miniature Multi-Purpose Vehicle market in North America.  With rumored 37mpg fuel efficiency, cabin space equal to that of many full size sedans or small SUV’s, cute boxy styling, and a price tag expected to be quite low, this new offering from Nissan North America is sure to be a huge hit!
